Hamish McDonald is the Asia-Pacific Editor of the Sydney Morning Herald and a former correspondent in Jakarta, Tokyo, New Delhi and Beijing.

As the political editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review, he wrote an article on Burma that was read into the record of the US Congress.
