His career includes working as a foreign correspondent and on the programs Four Corners (ABC) and Sixty Minutes (Nine Network). He was the host of Difference of Opinion on ABC Television, a series debating some of the challenges and issues facing Australia today.

He is CEO of Ian Thorpe's Fountain of Youth, which aims to to raise awareness and funds to bring positive changes to the lives of children by improving health and education. Their long term focus is on giving Indigenous children the same opportunities afforded to all children in Australia.
