Professor Michael Good is the director of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and president of the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes.

He gained a PhD from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and an MD and DSc from the University of Queensland, prior to undertaking postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health in Washington.

He is an active scientist specialising in infectious-disease immunity and vaccine development, particularly related to those diseases affecting people in developing countries and is a passionate advocate of the importance of medical research in leading to better health outcomes.
